There is no so-called stupid question. Any questions can raise new information for sharing and is of valuable.

Some whiskies show batch numbers explicitly and somehow it is one of their selling points. e.g. Laphroaig 10 years Cask Strength Edition, GlenDronach Cask Strength Edition. While some do not intend to show and so-called batch numbers or even just a code are printed on bottle in unapparent form. These batch related codes mostly are for their internal identification.

I have a may be stupid question here – how do you identify/ascertain the lot number of each bottle of whisky? Is it always printed somewhere say on the label or the bottle glass?
